Are there travel restrictions in Germany due to the epidemiological situation? Is accommodation in hotels during the trip possible? What if I’m on a business trip? We answer.
From November 2 to November 30, travel should be limited to essentials. Hotels and other accommodation places will not accept tourists. This applies to both tourists from Germany and from other countries.
In the event of a necessary business trip, overnight accommodation is allowed. Please contact the hotel in advance.
In some federal states, people coming from national high-risk areas and wishing to stay overnight in a hotel or other accommodation facility must have a negative test result, which was performed 48 hours before entering the federal state.Â
If you live in Germany in a county that has been recognised as a national risk area, please contact the accommodation facility or the local health authority competent for the purpose of your trip before you travel. There you will receive information about the current travel restrictions in Germany.
Some federal states have introduced restrictions on all trips to their territory from domestic high-risk areas (e.g. a one-day tourist trip). The basis for recognising a given province or city district as a national high-risk area is the rate exceeding 50 infections per 100 thousand. people within 7 days. Information on provinces with the highest rates is available in the daily  situation reports of  the Robert Koch Institute.
