As part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, from November Germany will introduce an online form of reporting arrival to its territory, said Health Minister Jens Spahn on Friday. Currently, passengers on planes arriving from risk areas receive paper exit cards.
“We will finally start digital arrival reporting in Germany in November,” Spahn said during a videoconference with EU health ministers. According to EU health commissioner Stella Kyriakides, this practice already exists in 11 Member States in the form of the so-called Passenger Locator Form (PLF).
After approval of the coronavirus vaccine for use, Spahn says, all 27 EU countries should receive it first. For its use to gain public acceptance, all clinical trials should wait until the so-called phase three. “It would not make sense to reach for a vaccine that is not accepted by the people,” said the German minister.
