“We are already in the second, shallow wave,” assessed the doctor in the Augsburger Allgemeine daily.
The higher level of new infections currently observed, she added, is the result of loosening discipline and the widespread desire to return to normalcy.

According to the union’s head, this could lead to the loss of success in the first phase of the pandemic, when Germany managed to control the SARS-CoV-2 transmission.
John appealed to the Germans to continue to apply the principles of social distancing and to wear protective masks to avoid a second wave of the pandemic.
According to the doctor, hospitals are prepared to accept a new wave of coronavirus patients, but the price of this will be a gradual reduction of places available for other patients.
According to official statistics, there are 12.2 thousand vacancies in Germany at the moment. with 21,000 beds in intensive care units.
Only 270 of them are occupied by Covid-19 patients.
On Tuesday, the total number of coronavirus infections in Germany increased by 879 to 211,281. Eight people died from Covid-19, bringing the total death toll in Germany to 9,156 people.
