What is the situation with the storm in Hamburg?
In Hamburg, a heavy storm tide submerged Germany’s port city’s famous fish market in the Altona district. The city was struck with a water level measured at 2.84 metres about average in the Sankt Pauli district.
The intense storm led to the cancellation of rail traffic and several delays. The train stopped long-distance traffic in the northern federal states of Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bremen for about 50 minutes, but it has now started again, said a railway spokesman on Saturday evening in Berlin – swp.de.
