If you have been infected by COVID-19 before, you can still get vaccinated. Professor Ulrike Protzer of the Technical University of Munich and Helmholtz Zentrum München research centre explained why you need the COVID-19 vaccination even after.
If you have been infected with the virus before and it failed to progress to a very serious degree, that means your immune system is now limited due to the fact your body needed to produce antibodies to fight off the virus.
After a period of six months the body is bound to be on the road to restoration.
Professor Ulrike recommended that to prevent reinfection, one had to get vaccinated after six months.
One dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will then be enough to start up your immune system again to give you full protection against the virus.
