The German city of Hamburg faces a new set of restrictions as the city is set to reimpose full lockdown measures right after the seven-day incidence of COVID-19 cases there rose above 100 per 100,000 people.
This means that all the steps the city had made in opening up to return to normalcy will be reversed. DW said that the Mayor, Peter Tschentscher, stated that the return to a full lockdown would start on Saturday, after case numbers in the northern port city edged above 100 per 100,000 residents.
The city of Hamburg has been facing a peak rise in the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the full lockdown was in the horizon. On Friday the numbers had risen to 108.6 cases. Come Saturday the rules from Before March 8th apply again.
