Another explosion in Cologne, this time in front of a clothing store on Ehrenstrasse, just a few hundred meters from the Vanity Club explosion on Monday morning. “Emergency services were called around 5 a.m.,” a police spokesperson told BILD. A passer-by was injured in the blast, and the area has been cordoned off by police.

Another Explosion Rocks Central Cologne

According to police, a passer-by sustained minor injuries in the explosion. The 40-year-old has already been questioned as a witness. The area remains cordoned off as police secure evidence. The clothing store “LFDY” was heavily damaged, with wainscoting ripped off and furniture destroyed. A fire also broke out as a result of the explosion.

Aleksander K., a resident living about 50 meters from the clothing store, shared with a German tabloid: “Just after five in the morning, there was a loud bang. At first, we couldn’t see anything, but then we noticed smoke. Shortly after, the fire department and police arrived. The emergency services cordoned off the entire area.”

Second Explosion Strikes Central Cologne

On Monday, September 16, an explosion occurred at the entrance of the Vanity Club, injuring a 53-year-old cleaning woman and a man who was taking out the trash at the time. The police released images from a security camera that reportedly captured the bomber in action. “The video recordings from the building’s surveillance system show the suspect committing the crime,” the police confirmed in a statement.
