Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) warns of fraudulent phone calls

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has warned that some criminals are once again making phone calls to threaten people living in Germany.

Be informed that such calls have not been made and are not being made by the BAMF or any other public authorities in Germany

The callers threaten the people receiving the calls that they will be deported unless they pay a certain fine. By a technical procedure called Call-ID-spoofing, the people receiving such calls see telephone numbers of the BAMF on their telephone displays.

Please be informed that such calls have not been made and are not being made by the BAMF or any other public authorities in Germany.

If you receive such a call, please just disconnect the line and do not pay any money!

For your safety, please try not to give or confirm any personal details when you receive such a call.
