The callers threaten the people receiving the calls that they will be deported unless they pay a certain fine. By a technical procedure called Call-ID-spoofing, the people receiving such calls see telephone numbers of the BAMF on their telephone displays.

Please be informed that such calls have not been made and are not being made by the BAMF or any other public authorities in Germany.

If you receive such a call, please just disconnect the line and do not pay any money!

For your safety, please try not to give or confirm any personal details when you receive such a call.

You are encouraged to inform BAMF if you have received such a threat, preferably by email to: info.buerger@bamf.bund.de.

Please share this link widely so as to save people who may be under threat from these criminals.
