Coronavirus (COVID-19) has so far infected 52,547 and killed 389 people in Germany, latest report from the German disease and epidemic control center, Robert Koch Institute (RKI) shows.
The incidence of coronavirus is highest in Hamburg, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
The new report confirms that the virus has infected mostly people aged between 35 and 59 years old. Men are more often affected than women.
At least 88% of the deaths occurred in persons aged 70 years or older.

German authorities have been implementing stricter measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country. On 23rd March 2020, gatherings of more than 2 persons (with the exception of families and household members) were banned in all states. Restaurants and businesses concerned with body care were also closed.
