Gambian Afro-Reggae Artist Bala Ranks. Entertainment. Bala Ranks, a Gambian Afro-Reggae artist based in Germany, has recently released two new music videos titled “Resistance” and “We Are Victims,” now available on YouTube.
The video for “Resistance” encourages people to overcome obstacles and remain determined in their pursuit of success. Bala Ranks inspires viewers to stay committed to their goals and shine through adversity, no matter the challenges they face.
In contrast, “We Are Victims” addresses the pressing issues of poor governance and broken promises by African politicians. The video highlights critical problems such as inadequate medical care, high unemployment, and urges citizens to be more discerning in choosing leaders who genuinely care about their welfare.
Bala Ranks began his European journey in 2019 with his debut tour, performing in several cities across Germany and Austria. Two years ago, he relocated to Germany and has since been working diligently in the studio to rebrand his music. He has assembled a band to help him explore the European music market, particularly focusing on Reggae Afro-Manding music.

His live performances have included notable events such as the African Picnic Festival on June 17, 2023, in Schwäbisch Hall, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Bala Ranks has also performed during the Gambian Cultural Week in Frankfurt, Germany, and in Mannheim, as well as Zurich in Switzerland.
