In order to apply for regularisation, irregular migrant workers in Italy are required to prove that they were already living in Italy by 8th March 2020. There are several ways of doing so:
- If your bio-metric data (fingerprints and passport size photos) were taken by the Italian security forces before that date. Normally this is done when foreigners apply for residence permits. It is also normally done when one is stopped for routine checks by the security forces.
- If you made a declaration of presence to the police/immigration office . This is normally done by those coming to Italy for short periods, for instance for tourism, scientific research, studies, sports competition, etc.
- In some cases, receipt issued by the hotel where you were staying before that date can also be used.
- Certificates from public institutions issued before 8th March 2020 showing that you were present in the Italian territory before that day. This includes medical certificates from hospitals, etc.
