Nigeria to host the 1st AS ROMA Academy in Africa

The first As Roma Academy in Africa will be started in Nigeria, being the only one in the whole of Africa. The academy will strengthen ties between the Giallorossi and Nigeria with the Abuja academy.

The two have been in connection building a relationship with Nigeria by hosting programs and opportunities for growth and training made available to young people in Nigeria through the academy.

The AS Roma Academy is the official network of football schools around the world dedicated to all boys and girls, aged between 5 – 17 years old, which offers the opportunity to learn the methodologies and training techniques that inspired talented players such as Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Alessandro Florenz among others.

Fransesco Calvo said that in addition to the academy, 60 scholarships will be provided to the most talented players in the U-13, U-15 and U-17 categories. 

The opening of the first Academy in the African continent is a natural and positive consequence, as well as the first step of Rome in an area of ​​the world where football represents a strong passion for many boys and girls.

The aim is to provide the most effective tools for training as people and players.

AS ROMA Academy being started in Nigeria that will also give girls the chance to play professional football.

The development plan also provides for expansion on the Nigerian territory through the opening of other locations of the AS Roma Academy in Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Benin and Lagos.
