Yesterday the boy had the second part of the operation in London to remove the cancer at the base of the brain.

“I am a mother fighting and standing strong for my son,” says Ms Jiani. “Words cannot express the pain that I felt when the Specialist Team Doctors told me with my son sitting next to me that the CT SCAN and Biopsy confirmed that he has an aggressive Rare Form of Cancer. According to the BBC, in 2008 only 201 cases of the disease had been recorded worldwide in the preceding two decades.”

Ms Jiani has spent the last six months in and out of hospital with her son. “This is the biggest battle of my life fighting for my son to beat this cancer,” she says. “I am praying and standing strong.”

Since the United Kingdom doesn’t have a Proton Centre, the boy will need to move to Florida in the US for the Proton Therapy For Cancer Treatment at the University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute where he’ll have to stay for about three months.

Ms Jiani needs your help to pay for travel, medical and accommodation costs.
