A Kenyan man who went missing in a German town for three weeks has been found dead.
Dennis Oduor’s lifeless body was found floating on water on 18th February 2020. He was last seen on 23rd January.
Irene Milly, Oduor’s sister has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help transport his body back home for burial.
“We would like to send him back home to his family where he will be laid to rest. We will be grateful for your support,” Milly said in a statement.
Oduor was reportedly not in good health when he vanished and did not carry his phone with him.
A Facebook post on 24th January 2010 announcing his disappearance read: “Denno has missed since Thursday and he did not take his phone with him. He was in a bad condition. If someone comes across him let him/her contact Mash Baros or the police in Ibbenbüren. His phone is with his girlfriend.”
Ibbenbüren is a medium-sized town in the district of Steinfurt, in North Rhine-Westphalia.
“Following the death of our brother Dennis Oduor, I would like to inform all his friends and relatives based in Germany that his body will be transported to Kenya at a cost estimated at €8000 (KSh 874,000),” Dada Bibiye, a friend posted on Facebook.
