How to find work in Germany: Jobs and internship opportunities for African migrants

Wondering how to find work in Germany? There are jobs and internships opportunities for African migrants who been living in Germany and those who have also recently migrated to Germany. The offer is aimed at migrants who have been assigned to the Mainz-Bingen job centre (SGB II).

A program funded by the Mainz-Bingen job centre called STARTen in den Job project is meant to place African Migrants in the labour market and also offer them internships that are relevant in their line of work.

The project will be taking African migrants in Germany through a series of classes that should last up to a maximum of 38 weeks running from Monday – Friday guiding them on how to find work in Germany. The classes will be from 9 AM – 1:30 PM with subsequent one-on-one interviews.

  • Joint preparation of application documents
  • Information about the German labour market
  • Diverse network of potential employers
  • Personal advice in one-on-one discussions
  • Preparation for job interviews
  • Job-related language and computer training
  • Implementation of company tours and placement of internships (up to 12 weeks)
  • If necessary, crisis intervention

For those affected by the pandemic who might struggle with travel costs, these can be covered by the job centre.

Participation in the measure requires an activation and placement voucher in accordance with Section 45 SGB III of the Mainz-Bingen job center and will be held at Pfarrhofstrasse 1, 55411 Bingen
