Tumaini Dala eV has been nominated for Best African Association in Germany Award (2021) at the AFRONEWS – Ortel Mobile African Community in Germany Awards (2021).
Sponsored by Ortel Mobile, Germany’s leading prepaid sim cards provider for people with a migration background, the AFRONEWS – Ortel Mobile African Community in Germany Awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of Africans in different fields in Germany.

Tumaini Dala e.V., is a charity organisation carrying out development projects in Kisumu, Kenya. Tumaini Dala means hope in the village.
Tumaini is a small organisation but with a great impact on the lives of the less fortunate in Kenya. It has indeed changed the lives of many people in Kenya with the limited resources it has.
Led by Josephine Achieng Hohpe, the Kenyan-born lady who lives with her family in Ober-Ramstadt, Tumaini Dala e. V., would like to give hope to poor families in Kenya. On the way to a promising future without poverty, it supports the education and nutrition of the needy children.
Tumaini Dala eV is organized from Germany but has responsible contacts in Kenya.
Apart from supporting the education of the needy children, it also provides a tailoring course to unemployed women so that they can later on have the opportunity to earn a living for themselves and cater for their families.
Tumaini Dala also supplies sanitary towels and school uniforms to poor children, donates wheelchairs, sanitary masks and disinfectants to the local schools. The association also feeds street children and donates water tanks to the community.
