Who will be AC Milan new central defender? Eric Bertrand Bailly or Chancel Mbemba?

Italy’s AC Milan is on serious search for a new central defender in order to prepare for the final part of Serie A.

With only 10 days left to the conclusion of the transfer market, the club is considering bringing onboard Eric Bertrand Bailly, an Ivorian professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the Ivory Coast national team.

Until next Wednesday Bailly will busy at the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) 2021 in Cameroon.

Franck Yannick Kessié, an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Series A club AC Milan and the Ivory Coast national team, could leave the club this month. He scored the first three goals which made it easier for Ivory Coast to beat Algeria at the Afcon 2021.

Eric Bertrand Bailly comes in the running t becoming AC Milan new central defender.

Bailly, on the other hand, remained on the bench throughout the match. He previously had many other opportunities to show off his technical and physical qualities. This year however he has only made four Premier League appearances and two more in the Champions League: which is why Manchester United is keen to negotiate so can he leave the club on loan. The AC Milan would however add the right of redemption on his deal to be exercised in summer.

Italy’s Corriere della Sera reports that AC Milan’s plan B, which focuses on Abdou Diallo, seems more complicated due to the resistance from Paris Saint Germain. The club is hardly open to loans, preferring to sell immediately. (more below)

Chancel Mbemba could be AC Milan new central defender.

The third option AC Milan has is to engage Chancel Mbemba, the DR Congo international and Porto defender who is out of contract at the end of the season. According to Corriere de Manha, the Portuguese club do not want to renew his deal.
