Football Legend Pelé in hospital again for tumour treatment

Football Legend Pelé has been hospitalised for colon cancer and the star had also been to the hospital due to other ailments, this time he requires tumour treatment.

More than half a year ago, a tumour was discovered in his intestines which is to be treated further but his condition is now is stable.

According to the Brazilian news portal G1, Pelé is to be released form hospital hopefully in the coming days.

Speigel wrote that during a routine check-up at a clinic in São Paulo, doctors discovered a tumour on the colon, which was removed in early September. After the operation, Pelé was treated in the intensive care unit.

He had to stay in the hospital for about a month after the operation.

In December the football legend was reported to be back in hospital for at least two weeks to continue with his treatment and his stay was extended due to a urinary tract infection.

Pelé’s health has been a matter of concern with hip surgeries, spine and knee problems and two years ago he had a kidney stone removed after a urinary tract infection.

The ex-footballer played 92 international matches and won a total of three World Cup titles (1958, 1962, 1970).
