Stephen Keshi, the former Super Eagles Coach and captain has died this morning at the age of 54 in Benin.
He was one of African football’s best-known figures, and one of only two men to win the Africa Cup of Nations both as a player and a coach.
His death was confirmed to The Vanguard by Ben Olaiya.
Ademola Olajire, an Assistant Director of Communications in the Nigeria Football Federation, also told The Vanguard that Keshi was rushed to an hospital in Benin after complaining of his legs.
The former Super Eagles Coach had problems with his legs and could not stand for long, Olajire said.
