Edochie is well-known for his roles in ritual-oriented Nollywood movies that show a different unique face to Africa. He once defended Nigerian producers after Babatunde Fashola, the minister for works and housing, had criticised them for making such films.

His recent comment comes after Gloria Young, a veteran actress, expressed concerns that entertainers might go hungry without alternative ways to work amid the ongoing lockdown.

It also follows after Yvonne Jegede warned that celebrities staging giveaways could soon start seeking financial aid as the lockdown continues to bite harder on pockets.
