Who is Rebellion The Recaller?
Rebellion The Recaller is a dynamic young uprising reggae singer from Gambia but living in Germany. He is a wonderful stage performer who thrills producers and crowds around the world.
His music is deeply spiritual soul and is inspired by a message of understanding, peace and dignity, which he finds in his faith. Rebellion The Recaller mainly wants to reach out to others, touch their hearts, and reflect with them.
Rebellion The Recaller descends from the Jahanka, Gambia. A tribe that is known for centuries for seeking wisdom and truth above worldly riches. However, he is also a ghetto youth, a child of our times and spiritual warrior in the middle of the concrete jungles from Banjul to Berlin, from London to Kingston.
His music is dedicated to people of all walks of life and community all over the world. Through his dedication to music he aims to break down barrier of race and religion and debating suppositions for a better future for all that dwell on earth.
He made his first hit in 1998 “Praise the mighty one” to launch his music career. His childhood friends supported this move. In 1999, he made his international hit “We must Rebel” in collaboration with Suns of Light, Majula Record Store and the Gambian label Inspired Ones.
The song was in the Top 10 charts in The Gambia and Senegal and trended for months thereby making it one of the highest selling single records by a Gambian artiste.
The song also performed very well, spreading like wildfire to Europe, the Caribbean, America and Asia.
Rebellion has performed in several countries including Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Norway, Switzerland, continental Europe and Africa.
Rebellion The Recaller won the Best African Musician/Band in Germany Award at the African Community in Germany Awards (2021).
He also got nominated as Gambia`s most recognised international artiste and received a Gold Record for the song “Vil Lüüt” with Switzerland`s reggae artiste Phenomden.
His other awards include Best Solo Artiste Of The Year 2001 and 2006 and Best International And Solo Artiste 2008 In Africa.
