African Community Awards. African Community in Germany Awards 2022. Agnes Leisch has been nominated for the Best African Musician/Band in Germany Award at the AFRONEWS – Ortel Mobile African Community in Germany Awards 2022.
Who is Agnes Leisch?
Agnes Leisch is a Kenyan Christian/Gospel artiste based in Germany. Her music career started way back when she was still a kid. She would sing in the church choir where her grandfather was a pastor. At school, she would entertain her fellow pupils with her sweet voice.
She relocated to Germany after meeting her husband while still living in Mombasa, Kenya. In 2014, Agnes recorded her first song “Nyumbani ni Nyumbani”. This was through the encouragement of her friend who was a producer. She later on managed to record eight secular songs.
Later in 2019, Agnes gave her life to Christ and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour of her life. This affected the type of music she was singing, hence switching from secular to Gospel music.
While in the Gospel sector, Agnes has been able to release an album and two singles. She uses her music to reach out to people and spread the Gospel of God’s love, joy and hope
In 2015, Agnes won the Best Female Artiste of the Year in Diaspora at the Diaspora Awards in Germany.
Agnes has also performed in various places including Mombasa, Kenya, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich and Dortmund.
Despite the many challenges in the music industry, Agnes has been able to be consistent in producing her music. She believes she is the right person to win the Best African Musician in Germany Award at the African Community in Germany Awards 2022.
Aside from being a musician, Agnes is also a talented hairdresser. Way back while still living in Kenya she used to plait people’s hair. She is also a mum to two wonderful kids.
