Chaos has erupted on streets of Glasgow. Reports by BBC suggest that three people have been stabbed to death in a stairwell to a hotel in Glasgow city centre. It is believed that a suspect was shot dead by police.
The city centre has been brought to a standstill as a large police contingency shut down main central roads.
LBC reporter Fraser Knight who is at the scene wrote on Twitter: “Reports of multiple stabbings in Glasgow City Centre and a potential major incident with upwards of 20 police vehicles, riot shields, armed officers and paramedics on West George Street.”
A traffic information bulletin issued by Glasgow City Council said: “Due to a serious police incident the following roads are currently closed until further notice.
Police say incident in Glasgow city centre is contained and there is no danger to the public. Have seen a person being stretchered away from a building. pic.twitter.com/4n0OP0NOP4

BBC reported that witness Craig Milroy, who saw the aftermath of the incident from an office building nearby said four people taken away in ambulances.
He told the PA news agency: “I saw a man lying on the ground, of African descent, with no shoes on. He was on the ground with someone holding his side – I don’t know if it was a bullet wound, a stab wound, or what it was.”
Greater Glasgow Police Division has posted the following message on their Facebook page: “Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident in West George Street in Glasgow. The street is currently closed off and the public are asked to avoid the area at present. The situation is contained at this time and there is no danger to the general public.”
