Victor Osimhen transfer. African footballers. Napoli has firmly rejected a €65 million bid for their striker, Victor Osimhen, despite growing interest from several top clubs. The Nigerian forward has been a standout player for Napoli, with an impressive record of 162 goals and assists in just 243 career appearances. This has naturally attracted interest from major clubs in Europe, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United. While Chelsea were once the favourites to secure Osimhen’s signature, recent reports suggest that Arsenal has stepped up their efforts to bring the striker to the Premier League.
As per reports, Osimhen’s release clause, which became active in January 2025, is set at €81 million. However, the Turkish club Galatasaray can sign him for a reduced fee of €75 million this month, due to a compensation clause in Osimhen’s contract. This clause allows Galatasaray to sign him for a lower price, with other clubs expected to pay the full €81 million release clause if they want to acquire him. Napoli initially set Osimhen’s release clause at €130 million, but this was reduced last summer when he signed a new contract with the club.
Osimhen’s potential move to Galatasaray was a loan deal, with the striker set to return to Napoli in the summer of 2025. While Galatasaray does not have an option to make the transfer permanent, there is still interest from other clubs in securing his signature for the next season. Napoli is determined not to let Osimhen go for less than the agreed-upon release clause, and they have declined a €65 million offer, waiting for a bid closer to the €75 million mark.

Although Osimhen’s future remains uncertain for now, there is no doubt that he will be one of the most sought-after players in the summer transfer window. Many of the top Premier League clubs will likely make a move for the striker, though financial fair play regulations may limit some of their options this winter. Ultimately, Osimhen will have a significant amount of control over his next move, as he is entering the peak years of his career. For now, he will continue his loan spell at Galatasaray and return to Napoli when the season concludes.
