PSG forward Kylian Mbappe has agreed to sign a three-year deal extension contract with Ligue 1 champions. His contract was due to expire in 30th June and he was widely expected to leave the club.
In what many people have termed as ridiculous, PSG have offered Mbappe a pay package worth €4m a month which is double his current terms making him the highest earner in the game.
He will also secure a signing in the region of €100m which includes concessions over images rights as well as bonuses for goals, Ballon d’Or honors and champions league success.
According to a statement released by LaLiga, they have expressed their disappointment in PSG and they are planning to file a complaint against PSG before UEFA, the French administrative and fiscal authorities and European Union authorities.
“This type of agreement attacks the economic stability of European football, putting at risk hundreds of thousands and jobs and the integrity of the sports, not only in European competitions but also in domestic leagues” the statement read.
“This kind behavior demonstrates once more that state owned clubs do not respect and do not want to respect the rules of a sector as important as football.”
