EU: European Union launches app for safe travel within Schengen zone

An app called Re-open EU has been launched for safe travel within the EU. The app is intended to help residents navigate different national restrictions as well as quarantine and testing requirements.

This tool provides an overview of the health situation in European countries, based on data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). The information is updated frequently and available in 24 languages. Germany had developed an app to track coronavirus infections which was a great success. We wrote about it here>>.

It enables you to follow the evolution of the coronavirus situation in your country and beyond. Re-open EU also provides information on the various restrictions in place, including on quarantine and testing requirements for travellers and mobile coronavirus contact tracing and warning apps.

Germany: Coronavirus tracking app has been downloaded 6.5 Million times during the first day

This should help you plan your travel in Europe, while staying safe and healthy. The European Union is making major efforts to overcome this pandemic, to protect citizens and their livelihoods.
