Victor Osimhen transfer news. African footballers. Victor Osimhen has recently put to rest rumors suggesting he might cut his loan short at Galatasaray and return in January. Osimhen, who is on loan from Napoli for the season, addressed speculation that clubs could be looking to activate a release clause to bring him back early. He confirmed in an interview with Nexus Sports that he plans to stay in Turkey until the end of the season, saying, “They are talking about January, but I am here until the end of the season.”
Osimhen expressed how much he appreciates Galatasaray and how the club has made him feel welcome, noting that he and his family have felt at home since they arrived. He shared that Galatasaray has treated them with a strong sense of community, calling the club “like a family.” His focus, he says, is on doing his best on the field for Galatasaray and making an impact in the Super Lig. Despite ongoing reports linking him to clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as some teams in the Saudi Pro League, he emphasized that he’s fully committed to his current team.
Adding to the reasons for Osimhen’s decision to stay is the recent injury to his teammate Mauro Icardi, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament and damaged his meniscus, which could leave him sidelined for a significant period. This injury further strengthens Galatasaray’s need to keep Osimhen, especially since he has already made a notable impact, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his first five league games.

Chelsea and Arsenal had been interested in signing Osimhen since the summer. Chelsea, however, ultimately chose not to pursue a deal and has instead benefited from strong performances by Nicolas Jackson, who has scored six goals and provided three assists early in the Premier League season.
While Osimhen is expected to return to Napoli at the end of the season, he has been clear that his focus now is entirely on Galatasaray, and he’s looking forward to helping his team succeed in the Turkish league.
