New guidelines from German health ministers : Principles 2G and 3G
At a conference in Lindau on Lake Constance on Thursday, the health ministers of the individual federal states agreed on some important points to combat the deteriorating coronavirus situation in Germany. According to federal health minister Jens Spahn, 2G and 3G should apply to restaurants and events.
All health ministers agreed with Spahn on this point.
New guidelines from German health ministers: Booster vaccination 6 months after the last dose
“It is important to break the dynamics that exist now,” stressed Klaus Holetschek, Bavarian Minister of Health, chairman of the conference. That’s why health ministers are now recommending a booster six months after the last dose.
This applies primarily to the elderly and people with weak immunity, and medical personnel, and ultimately also to all other people. “The situation is sometimes dramatic, disturbing and not clear at all,” said the CSU politician.
Jens Spahn also urges citizens to take a booster dose. Germany is facing “very difficult weeks” of the coronavirus pandemic, Spahn said. It is known that about 0.8 percent of the newly infected went to the intensive care unit after ten to 14 days. With the number of new infections amounting to almost 40,000. this means that 350 to 400 infected people would need to be treated in intensive care units after a few days.
37,120 infections were registered on Friday. National weekly disease rate per 100,000 of inhabitants exceeded the peak recorded during the third pandemic wave in spring. Over the past 24 hours, health authorities reported 37,120 new coronavirus infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). Already on Thursday, the number of new infections hit a record high of 33,949, more than ever before in the pandemic. A week ago, there were 24,668 infections.
