Rewe is withdrawing dangerous sausages from sale

The manufacturer Mühlen Gruppe Markenvertriebs GmbH informed the public about the recall of one of its products, which may contain pieces of blue plastic.

The recalled item is about a 200 gram package of “ja! Delicatessen Cervelatwurst”. The recall only applies to products with an expiration date of August 15, 2022 and the number 4388840218462.

The company officially stated that the recall was only a precautionary measure. “Small remnants of blue plastic are the reason for the preventive recall of the batch,” according to a statement published on July 29.

Which states were the suspicious products recalled in?

As reported by the consumer portal of the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety Lebensmittelwarnung.de, suspcious sausages were withdrawn from the Rewe chain of stores in nine federal states: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Bremen, Hamburg, Hessa, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein.

Customers are requested not to consume these products under any circumstances. According to the press release, the purchase price “will be refunded, even without presenting the receipt”.

Pieces of blue plastic in the cheese

The dairy product “Milbona Emmentaler gerieben” was withdrawn from sale in eight Länder on July 22 for the same reason.

The contaminated cheese was sold in Lidl in a total of eight states:   Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein.
