Germany: Car drives into a pedestrian zone in Trier, 2 dead, ten injured

A car has driven into the pedestrian zone in Trier (Rhineland-Palatinate) hitting and killing two and injuring 10, – the police have confirmed.

Trier’s Mayor Wolfram Leibe has also confirmed the incident to the SWR.

Report by the SWR shows that the car “raced” into the pedestrian zone.

It is still unclear what’s behind the attack, said a police spokesman. The driver has been arrested.
