Berlin vaccination centres: Six sites in Berlin have been selected to be used as vaccination centres for Covid-19, said Albrecht Broemme, project manager for vaccination centres at the Federal Technical Aid Agency (THW).
Among the designated venues are the Berlin trade fair grounds and the Tempelhof and Tegel airports. Vaccination centres are to be established there by mid-December we wrote about them here>>.
Germany to set up hundreds of vaccination centres from December
“We will have centres that are easily accessible by public transport,” said Broemme, adding that volunteers would be needed to complete the work. He also stated that some of them should have a medical degree, but, as he explained, “chief doctors and such highly qualified people” are not needed.
According to the vaccination strategy approved by the government in October, the federal states are to designate vaccination centres. Their activities will be complemented by mobile groups that will go to nursing homes. (PAP)
