Coronavirus (COVID-19) has infected 73,522 and killed a total of 872 in Germany, the latest report by the German disease and epidemic control center, Robert Koch Institute (RKI) shows.
The incidence (cases per 100,000) of COVID-19 is highest in Bavaria (141), Baden-Württemberg (133) and Hamburg (131).

Most (74%) of the people infected are aged between 15 and 59. At least 52% of the people infected men while 48% of the infected are women.
Coronavirus continues to be fatal to older people. Latest report from Robert Koch Institute shows that 86% of deaths occurred in persons aged 70 years or older.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has confirmed that Germany will extend its social distancing measures throughout the end of the Easter holiday break.
The extension, which now keeps the restrictions in place until at least April 19, was agreed during a conference call between Merkel and the leaders of Germany’s 16 states. “A pandemic doesn’t take a vacation,” Chancellor Angela Merkel said announcing an extension to Germany’s coronavirus restrictions. German residents have been urged not to travel over the Easter holidays.

On 23rd March Germany banned gatherings of more than 2 persons (with the exception of families and household members). Restaurants and businesses concerned with body care were also closed.
