Nigerians mourn veteran Nollywood star Jim Lawson Maduike

Nollywood suffers yet another blow with the passing of veteran actor, Jim Lawson Maduike, which comes days after the death of fellow veteran actress Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi passed away, we wrote about it here>>.

The actor breathed his last on 9th January 2021 after reportedly complaining about body aches, with confirmation of his death coming from the national secretary of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria Abubakar Yakubu.

‘’I have been able to confirm from Imo, where he comes from. I got his direct number but it’s not going through. It’s true that he died last night. It was said that he fell briefly ill. We are still awaiting more details,’’ Guardian quoted Yakubu to have said.

Before his unfortunate demise, Jim Lawson Maduike was a famous Nollywood actor, radio broadcaster, writer, voice-over artist, filmmaker and a television personality. He worked with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ray Power and Minaj FM before venturing into the Nigerian movie industry in 2004.

He acted in over 150 Nollywood movies which include ‘Heartbeats’, ‘Royal Madness’, ‘Save the Prince’, and ‘Tomorrow Must Wait’.

His fans have taken to the social media to express their shock as well as share their messages of condolences.
