African news. The Guinness World Records has acknowledged Tonye Solomon’s achievement of most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a ball on his head.
Solomon had previously walked 60 km balancing a ball on his head from Amassoma to Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, Nigeria, but many doubted that it ever happened. He then set out to break a new record for most steps climbed on a ladder while balancing a soccer ball on his head.
He successfully climbed 150 steps to the top of a 250-foot-tall radio mast with the ball balancing on his head the whole time.
Tonye’s motivation was to challenge himself and inspire others to do great things. He spent 2 months training and consistently perfecting his skills until he was confident enough. It took him just 12 and a half minutes to set this record.
After reaching the top, he threw the ball down and celebrated his achievement, thanking all those involved, “It wasn’t easy. I thank the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing me use of their facility for this,” he said.
